Fire at the dump! Pray!

As many of you are aware, the dump in Roatan has again caught fire…

This is a picture of the dump in January when Bran and I were there….

And this is the dump as of yesterday…. With smoke and fumes thick for miles!

From the “outside” you may think “they need to burn off that trash anyway” etc etc…

But those that minister, love, cry, and build relationships with the residents that live in and near the dump…..

Know that families survive because of the trash that is collected and sold for recycling… Know that fathers have to decide to where to evacuate their families… Know there are children who will not be going to their home…. And know that with odds stacked already against them, this is another obstacle in which they have no control!

And we wonder and worry…. Where is Jesus and his family… A grandfather who with a smile considered himself greatly favored by God that his children and grandchildren are alive… Where is Jesus now?

His birthday is next week… Where will he be?

Where are all that live on and near the dump have had to evacuate their lean toos and huts due to the toxic fumes and smoke?

Where are the mothers and the children as they flee to areas unknown to escape the fierce heat and flames?

Though we do not have answers to these questions… Our Holy God and Creator can see each one of them… And has a plan for this tragedy!

“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” ‭Romans‬ ‭8:28‬ ‭NASB

Please pray with the Honduras mission team for these families! For their safety and health and that the dump will quickly burn out! Also pray for us as we prepare to minister to the dump families and prepare for our trip there in June!
